Survey for women geoscientists: why leave industry?

The American Association of Petroleum Geologists wants to know why so many women geoscientists leave the energy industry. They've got a web survey to find out. They are asking for any women geoscientists to participate, whether or not they've ever worked in an energy industry.

(If you're like me and haven't worked in industry, the survey is really really short.)

In my experiences on my travels and discussions in Texas, my impression of the correct but disgusting answer is "Oil workers are sexist pigs."

Workers are leaving other professional vocations (nursing, waitressing, office work, fast food cook, etc.) for the high pay of vocations these people have no experience in working in the oil patch.
